DUBLIN -- The school board appointed Megan Rouse, a financial planner, to fill a board vacancy Tuesday night.
Rouse was sworn in to office immediately after the 4-0 board vote approving her appointment. She replaces David Haubert, who stepped down from the school board in December to begin serving a Dublin City Council post he was elected to in November.
Rouse has two children in Dublin public schools. She has been a school classroom volunteer and she chairs the Dublin Elementary School site council.
Her seat on the school board is up for election in 2014.
Rouse is the second woman on the five-member board. Amy Miller was appointed to the school board in September 2010 and elected to a four-year term last November.
