Mother Goose Time: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays through Feb. 26. Best for ages 6 months to 3 years old, it features, bounces, tickles and rhymes, followed by a simple craft time for motor skills and creative expression.
Leung's White Crane Lion Dancers: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 12. All ages are invited to celebrate Chinese New Year with the White Crane Lion Dancers and their costumes and acrobatics. Participants can bring a little "lettuce" to feed the lion.

Lego Creators Club: 2-3 p.m. March 2. Kids ages 5-11 can let their imaginations run wild at the monthly get-together. There will be new themes, tips and challenges, plus book tie-ins to take home.
Wii Thursdays for Teens: 3-4:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 21. Teens are invited meet others and play games on the library's Wii system.
Valentine's Day Family Story Time: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Children are invited for songs and stories about Valentine's Day, and are welcome to come dressed in red or pink.
Pleasant Hill Teen Advisory Group (TAG): 3:30-5 p.m. Feb. 13. Teens ages 13-18 can meet other teens and the young adult librarian every second Wednesday of the month in Room A to create fun programs and suggest new resources. Participants can receive volunteer hours for their time.
Contra Costa Teen Chess Club: 3-5 p.m. Fridays. Students 12-17 can get instruction and participate in friendly matches and tournaments. Games are in the Baldwin Room and participants who have them are encouraged to bring their own chess board and pieces.
Pleasant Hill Library Book Discussion: 6:30 p.m. in Room A. On Feb. 19, the discussion will be on David Brook's "The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement."
Afternoon Book Discussion: 1-2:30 p.m. March 1. Adults can read with others at the library and discuss "Remarkable Creatures" by Tracy Chevalier.
Cascada de Flores: A Celebration of Song and Traditions of Mexico and Beyond: 6:30-7:20 p.m. Feb. 26. All ages can enjoy Cascada de Flores performing the classic music of Mexico and Cuba on a variety of guitars, including the Cuban tres, as well as dancing and telling stories of their musical traditions. The concert is made possible by Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library.
Volunteer Orientation: 3-4 p.m. Feb. 16, March 2, 16, 30. Teens and adults can apply to be a library volunteer. Participants will tour the library with a trained staff member who will give them the details of volunteering.
Las Juntas Artists Association: In partnership with the library, each month the group exhibits the works of different artists during regular library hours. In February, the acrylic paintings of Cathy Ward McNutt will be on display.
