DANVILLE -- Opponents of controversial Danville 2030 General Plan changes are sponsoring two town hall meetings to present their objections to the public.

The meetings are from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and 27 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Ave.

The Planning Commission approved the 2030 General Plan earlier this month after a series of well-attended meetings where residents spoke out against more high-density, affordable housing and more development on agricultural land.

The plan will go before the Town Council for final approval, possibly in March.

Speakers at the Feb. 21 meeting will include members of Friends of Danville, Save Open Space Danville, presidents of local homeowner associations, and recent town council candidate Bob Nealis and Jim Jelincic.
