Concord's auto district

New direction signs for the Concord Auto District were officially unveiled Feb. 19, by Concord City Councilman Ron Leone. The city and its 17 auto dealers partnered on the signs designating the district around Market Street, Concord Avenue, Diamond Boulevard, Burnett Avenue and Marsh Drive. Concord tops Contra Costa cities in new car sales, and is one of the top two in the East Bay, according to a city news release. Concord new auto dealers generated more than $500 million in sales from October 2011-September 2012, with approximately 20 percent growth over the same period the previous year. An ad campaign -- Concord has the Car for You -- launches in March. Visit www.concordhasthecarsforyou.com.
