HAYWARD -- Seb Flores scored 16 points and Steven Daily added 14 as the College Park High boys basketball team led from start to finish in a 67-59 win over Mt. Eden on Saturday in the second round of the Northern California Division II regional playoffs.

No. 11 College Park (25-5) now goes on to play at No. 10 St. Francis-Mountain View, an upset winner over No. 2 Antelope, in the regional semifinals Tuesday.

Daily, whose previous scoring high this season was 10 points, scored eight points in the first quarter as the Falcons grabbed a 18-5 lead over the third-seeded Monarchs (19-11).

The Falcons flew out to an 8-0 lead in the first period before Stevenair Young scored Mt. Eden's first points with 4:20 left in the quarter.

The Monarchs, behind Eghosa Edogun's eight points, outscored College Park 18-10 in the second quarter to cut the lead to 28-23 at the half.

The Falcons, repeatedly penetrating the soft Monarch defense for easy baskets, got balanced scoring in the third period to take a 45-36 lead.

A frantic Monarch effort cut the lead to 59-55 with 1:56 left, but College Park's Joe DeMers dropped in three free throws with under 20 seconds left to seal the victory.

Young led Mt. Eden with 18 points and Noel Briones added 14.
