Albany police log: Horseshoe pit doesn't prove lucky for man with outstanding warrant

MONDAY, Aug. 12 WARRANT -- Officers arrested a Fremont man in the 1100 block of Solano Avenue at 4 p.m. for an outstanding warrant. BIKE STOLEN -- Sometime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. someone stole a gray hybrid bike from a Kains Avenue residence. TRESPASSING -- At 11:45 p.m. officers investigated a report that a strange person was inside a neighbor's older model white SUV on Ordway Street. Officers arrested an Oakland man for suspicion of a parole violation and a probation violation.
TUESDAY, Aug. 13 THEFT -- An employee at Safeway in the 1500 block of Solano Avenue called at 2:30 p.m. to report a man had just stolen health care products and was last seen heading east on Solano Avenue. WARRANT -- Officers investigating someone acting suspiciously near the horseshoe pit at the waterfront at 2:30 a.m. arrested a Richmond man for an outstanding warrant.
WEDNESDAY, Aug. 14 DUI -- At 2:30 a.m. officers stopping a vehicle on San Pablo Avenue near Gilman Street for a vehicle code violation arrested a Loveland, Colo. man for suspicion of DUI.
THURSDAY, Aug. 15 DUI -- Officers arrested an El Cerrito man on San Pablo Avenue near Harrison Street at 12:30 a.m. for suspicion of DUI. PETTY THEFT -- Just before 3 p.m. officers received a report that security at Target in the 1000 block of Eastshore had a person in custody who was fighting with the guard and not allowing handcuffs to be applied. They arrested the Oakland woman for suspicion of petty theft. They also arrested a Richmond man for petty theft who was helping her. WARRANT -- At 5:30 p.m. officers arrested an Oakland man in the 1000 block of San Pablo Avenue for an outstanding warrant.
FRIDAY, Aug. 16 STOLEN CAR -- A car was stolen overnight on Ordway Street. THEFT -- At 5:30 p.m. officers received a report that someone had stolen items out of an unlocked car on Marin Avenue. DUI -- Officers stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue at 11:30 p.m. for a vehicle code violation and arrested a Berkeley man for suspicion of two counts of DUI.
SATURDAY, Aug. 17 DUI -- At 2:30 a.m. officers arrested a San Pablo man in the 600 block of San Pablo Avenue for suspicion of DUI. DISTURBANCE -- Officers received a call at 10:30 p.m. from a woman who sounded like she was intoxicated and said she was being attacked. Officers responded to the area near Solano and Talbot avenues and arrested a Rohnert Park woman for disorderly conduct. TOWING -- Just before midnight officers towed a car from Adams Street that was partially blocking a driveway.
SUNDAY, Aug. 18 ASSAULT -- At 1 a.m. officers responded to a residence on the 1100 block of Portland Avenue when they received a call about a woman locking herself in her room and acting violently toward her husband. Officers arrested the Albany woman for suspicion of assault. DISTURBANCE -- Officers issued a warning to a group of noisy partyers on Talbot Avenue at 2 a.m. after neighbors complained that the noise had gone on for more than two hours. BIKE STOLEN -- A bicycle was stolen over the weekend from the side yard of a residence on Key Route Boulevard. DUI -- At 7 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle near San Pablo Avenue for a vehicle code violation and arrested the driver, a Berkeley man, for suspicion of DUI. DUI -- Officers arrested a Walnut Creek man on I-80 near the Buchanan Street interchange for suspicion of two counts of DUI.
