Monday, sept. 9

  • 5:46 p.m. -- Lake Avenue. A woman told police that someone rifled through her unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS device. It happened sometime the previous night.

    Tuesday, sept. 10

  • 10:10 a.m. -- Crocker Avenue. The theft of a white Acura Legend was reported. The car was last seen at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 9.

    Wednesday, sept. 11

  • 10:15 a.m. -- Greenbank Avenue. Windows were reported stolen police are classifying as a burglary. The theft may be linked to a report the previous day that two men were spotted in the neighborhood acting suspiciously.

  • 8:02 p.m. -- Dracena Avenue. A burglary was reported.

    Thursday, sept. 12

  • 12:47 p.m. -- Fairview Avenue. A man who was reported as suspicious because he was unloading containers from a van was making wine in a nearby garage, police said. Officers also learned the man was given the owner's permission to be on the property when they contacted him.

  • 11:18 p.m. -- Grand & Elwood avenues. A witness told police that a man was stumbling staggering before he climbed into a vehicle and drove off almost hitting two parked vehicles. The man was last traveling toward Oakland. Piedmont police notified Oakland police about the incident.

    Friday, sept. 13

  • 5:24 a.m. -- Oakland Avenue. A caller spotted someone rifling through their vehicle after he apparently activated a motion detector light on the property, police said. The man fled on foot.

  • 5:53 a.m. -- Olive Avenue. Someone rifled through vehicles parked on the street, police said.

  • 8:34 a.m. -- Jerome Avenue. Police received reports of two unlocked vehicles rifled through.

  • 10:37 a.m. -- Warfield Avenue. A residential burglary was reported.

    Saturday, sept. 14

  • 2:38 a.m. -- Piedmont Avenue (Oakland). Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of DUI.

    Sunday, sept. 15

  • 11:07 a.m. -- Pacific Avenue. Identity theft was reported.

  • 3:52 p.m. -- Olive Avenue. Police recovered a stolen vehicle.

  • 11:39 p.m. -- York Drive. A man who attempted to steal loose change from a vehicle fled when he was confronted, police said. The man, who left his burglary tools behind, was last seen heading toward Ricardo Avenue. He was described as a black man between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing a white shirt.
