Friday, Sept. 6 WARRANT ARREST -- An officer making a suspicious person pedestrian stop at 11 a.m. at Donal Avenue and Liberty Street arrested a Lake County man for an outstanding assault and grand theft warrant. ROBBERY -- At 1 p.m. officers responded to a report of armed robbery by two men who confronted an employee in the back parking lot of a business at 10468 San Pablo Ave. The victim tripped while fleeing, dropping his keys and a bank deposit bag. The robbers fled with the items in a waiting vehicle. Police say the suspects "appear to have conducted surveillance on the victim and his business." CHECK FRAUD -- An officer responding to a fraud report at the US Bank inside Safeway arrested a Hercules man for suspicion of attempting to pass two checks totaling $5,700. ATTEMPTED SCAM -- Officers responded to a reported possible home improvement scam in the 2600 Block of Tassajara Avenue, where the driveway of an elderly resident had been skim coated by the subject, supposedly for free. The subject gave police a false name and birth date and was arrested and taken to the county jail. Police say residents should be suspicious of door-to-door repair people, never allow unfamiliar people inside and contact the department if at all concerned. VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1995 Honda Accord was stolen in the 800 block of Lexington Avenue. RECOVERED VEHICLES -- A 1999 Honda Civic stolen in Novato was recovered in the 900 block of Elm Street. A 1996 Honda Accord stolen in Richmond was located in the 10800 block of San Pablo Avenue. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE -- A 32-year-old Vallejo man was arrested during a traffic stop at San Pablo and Madison avenues for an outstanding warrant. A canine search turned up methamphetamine and narcotic sales paraphernalia in the vehicle. A 34-year-old Nevada woman passenger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. During booking more controlled substances were found. ASSAULT -- Officers responding to a fight reported outside the Mel-O-Dee lounge at El Cerrito Plaza found one victim unconscious on the sidewalk and another unconscious in the parking lot. The attackers fled before police arrived. The investigation determined two subjects punched and kicked the victims into unconsciousness. The victims were taken to hospitals, one by helicopter.
Saturday, Sept. 7 VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1997 Honda Accord was reported stolen overnight from an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Liberty Street.
Sunday, Sept. 8 PETTY THEFT -- A 33-year-old Rodeo man suspected of taking merchandise from Safeway was arrested. RECOVERED VEHICLE -- A stolen vehicle was located in the of the Super 8 Motel parking lot on Potrero Avenue and it was determined a suspect was at the motel. A Richmond woman, 32, was arrested for vehicle theft and a search turned up stolen and forged checks and fraudulent credit cards.
Monday, Sept. 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY -- A woman walking while texting on her cell phone on the BART path between Conlon and Wall avenues was struck in the head several times by a man who then pulled her toward bushes along the path. A resident heard the victim cry for help and yelled at the suspect, who fled southbound on the BART path. WARRANT ARREST -- Officers searching for a suspect in the BART path assault held a southbound BART train at the Plaza station at 7:15 p.m. to conduct a search. Officers detained a man matching the description of the suspect. The victim did not identify him as the attacker, but he was arrested on an outstanding San Francisco warrant.
Tuesday, Sept. 10 DUI -- A Richmond man, 57, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. at San Pablo and Fairmount avenues on suspicion of DUI. WARRANT ARREST -- A 46-year-old Albany man was arrested for failure to appear in court on a DUI arrest.
Wednesday, Sept. 11 ATTEMPTED BURGLARY -- Four subjects were reported attempting to break into a storage shed behind a residence in the 11400 block of San Pablo Avenue at 2:40 a.m. then fleeing when confronted. DUI -- A Richmond woman, 30, was arrested for DUI during a traffic stop at San Pablo Avenue and Cutting Boulevard. A 35-year-old man in the car, who was heavily intoxicated and had a head wound from a fall, was also taken into custody. SHOPLIFTING -- Shoplifting was reported at 11:20 p.m. at Safeway. A 36-year-old Richmond man was cited for theft and giving false identification. POSSESSION -- Police pursued and caught a theft suspect who fled Safeway at 11:30 p.m. The San Francisco man, 53, was found to have suspected rock cocaine and a hypodermic needle.
Thursday, Sept. 12 POSSESSION -- At 3 a.m. officers pursued a suspicious vehicle that fled a traffic stop at Arlington Boulevard and Potrero Avenue. A four-mile pursuit of the green Ford Explorer led to the parking lot of the Lytton Casino in San Pablo, where police say the suspect threw a container of suspected methamphetamine under the car. The driver resisted arrest but was taken into custody. POSSESSION -- Just before 4 a.m. a parolee from Pinole was stopped while riding a bicycle at San Pablo and Manila avenues. A search turned up a pepper spray canister, prohibited for felons; suspected crack cocaine and a smoking pipe. VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1999 Honda Civic was stolen in the 1200 block of Navellier Street. The owner was unaware of the theft until a Scott Street resident called to report the car was blocking a driveway. BURGLARY -- A bicycle was stolen from a garage in the 100 block of San Carlos Avenue. DOMESTIC BATTERY -- A 60-year-old Oakland man who punched his domestic partner during a disagreement at Central Avenue at Oak Street was arrested. FIREARM -- A Richmond man, 25, was arrested during a traffic stop at 11450 San Pablo Ave. for driving on a suspended license and a search revealed a concealed firearm and a loaded ammunition magazine. VEHICLE THEFT -- A 1997 Nissan Sentra was reported stolen in the 6000 block of Tapscott Avenue.
