Lakota poet and writer Luke Warm Water will be the featured reader for the Alameda Island Poets reading series from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Books Inc., 1344 Park St.

Warm Water is from Rapid City, S.D., and has lived in the Bay Area for seven years. He holds a master's in public health from the University of Oklahoma and has worked in public health for 20 years.

He has also read at the Frank Bette Center for the Arts as well as the Petaluma Poetry Walk and has been published in several Native American anthologies.
