Police arrested a 22-year-old woman Oct. 11 after she was found carrying a pipe for smoking methamphetamine in her backpack on Oak Street, where an officer initially stopped her for having no front light on her bicycle, a vehicle code violation.
The woman, who was subject to searches as a condition of her probation, was also under the influence of narcotics when she was detained in the 1800 block of the street, police said. The arrest occurred about 1:50 a.m., less an hour after police arrested a man, 50, on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and a pipe for smoking the substance in the 2400 block of Blanding Avenue.
The same day police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of possessing suspected methamphetamine and hydrocodone pills. It happened about 6:20 p.m. at Park Street and Central Avenue.
THURSDAY, OCT. 10 PETTY THEFT -- Someone stole a gas tank and a fuel line from a boat in the 1500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. It was reported about 12:15 p.m. DRUG POSSESSION -- A 52-year-old man was arrested after officers searched his residence to check whether he was abiding by the conditions of his probation and allegedly found methamphetamine. The man was also in possession of ammunition, which he is not allowed to have as a felon, police said. The arrest occurred just after 10 a.m. in the 4500 block of Mountain View Avenue. RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police recovered a vehicle stolen in San Francisco shortly after 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of Linden Street. A vehicle was reported stolen about 10:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of Pacific Marina.
FRIDAY, OCT. 11 VEHICLE THEFT -- An attempted vehicle theft was reported about 6:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of Marina Village Parkway. PETTY THEFT -- The theft of what police described as a gate valve from the exterior of a building in the 100 block of West Hornet Avenue was reported about 2:20 p.m. The theft of a brass valve from the exterior of a building in the first block of West Seaplane Lagoon was reported 40 minutes later, police said. BURGLARY -- Someone attempted to burglarize a residence in the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive by prying open a glass door. The attempt was reported about 4:35 p.m. A burglary was also reported about 8:30 p.m. in the first block of Maitland Drive.
SATURDAY, OCT. 12 PROBATION VIOLATION -- Officers arrested two men after they were dispatched to investigate a disturbance at a bar in the 1500 block of Park Street about 1:55 a.m. One man, 34, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, and the second man, 30, was in violation of his probation because he was out past his court-ordered curfew, police said. OUTSTANDING WARRANTS -- A traffic stop on Central Avenue about 5:45 p.m. led to the arrest of a 45-year-old woman after a background check revealed she was wanted on three outstanding misdemeanor warrants. A 42-year-old man was arrested after another traffic stop just after 8 p.m. in the 1500 block of Oak Street, where he was allegedly found in possession of burglary tools and suspected stolen mail. The man, who was riding a bicycle, was searched after police learned he was on parole. BURGLARY -- Someone entered a vacant residence in the 2000 block of Monterey Circle by prying open a sliding-glass door and stole copper pipes and wiring from the walls. The theft was reported at 6:50 p.m.
SUNDAY, OCT. 13 PUBLIC INTOXICATION -- A 17-year-old boy, a man, 40, and two women ages 30 and 32 who were creating a disturbance outside a bar in the 1500 block of Park Street, were arrested about 12:25 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication, police said. Another man, 29, was arrested 20 minutes later on suspicion of public intoxication at Park Street and Alameda Avenue, where he was also accused of biting someone's hand during a fight, police said. The victim did not wish to prosecute, however. VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle reported stolen in the 1000 block of Broadway about 12:25 a.m. was recovered in Oakland, while another vehicle reported stolen about 12:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of Gresham Drive was found abandoned in the 2200 block of Mariner Square Loop. A vehicle theft was also reported at 2:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Park Street. DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a motorist, 35, on suspicion of drunken driving about 2:25 a.m. after a traffic stop at Park Street and Eagle Avenue, where the man allegedly failed field sobriety tests. VEHICLE BREAK-IN -- A juvenile faces charges of auto burglary and possessing stolen property after he broke into two vehicles at Fifth Street and Taylor Avenue, police said. The boy, who was detained near the scene and arrested about 2:10 p.m., was released to his mother with a notice to appear in juvenile court. Another youth faces similar charges after he was arrested about 30 minutes later on suspicion of breaking into a vehicle on Ballena Boulevard and stealing items from inside. He was also released to his mother with a notice to appear in court. Someone also broke windows of three vehicles in the 300 block of Central Avenue. It was reported about 10:25 a.m. A vehicle break-in was also reported just after 6:40 p.m. in the 1900 block of Third Street. OUTSIDE AGENCY ASSISTANCE -- Officers with the Oakland Housing Authority police requested help from an Alameda police dog and its handler about 8:30 p.m. during their search for a burglary suspect on 65th Avenue.
