HAYWARD -- Elijah Hernandez threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns as the Alameda High football team beat host Mt. Eden 35-25 on Saturday to move into a four-way tie for first place in the West Alameda County Conference's Shoreline Division.

Derrick Dizon scored Alameda's first two touchdowns, catching a 78-yard strike from Hernandez and running in another score from 16 yards out. Sulaiman Hameed caught the next two touchdown passes from Hernandez and ended the game with 99 yards on six catches.

Omar Badr had the final, game-clinching touchdown for the Hornets on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.

With two weeks left in the regular season, Tennyson, Piedmont, San Lorenzo and Alameda all have 2-1 WACC-Shoreline Division records. Alameda (5-3) hosts San Lorenzo next week.

Mt. Eden quarterback Jonathan Sturholm completed 19 of 32 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns.

Dominic Williams had six catches for 91 yards and two scores, and Ray Fat had 46 yards and the other touchdown from Sturholm. On the ground, Giovanni Remmen ran for 85 yards and a score for the Monarchs (4-4, 1-2).
