His name is Earl, a 5-year-old, 75-pound, sensitive and gentle canine companion who will thrive in a quiet home. He loves his walks but is equally content stretched out on the sofa snoozing next to his favorite person. Earl is going to make some lucky person a devoted and loyal lifelong friend.
Malcolm loves to be in the middle. He wants to be your best friend and isn't afraid to show you with his expressions, head-bumping and purring exceptionally loudly when you pet him. He's very affectionate, and while he hasn't shown himself to be a lap cat in the shelter, he has definite potential to become one in the home. This handsome boy is FIV positive; therefore he needs to be an indoor-only cat.
Cat adoption hours are 12-4 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays; dog adoption hours are noon-4 p.m. Wednesday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society, 2700 Ninth St. For more details call 510-845-3633, ext. 25.
