Walk, Roll to School Day scheduled for Nov. 15

On Nov. 15, students, parents, teachers, and staff at all the Piedmont schools will celebrate Piedmont Walk and Roll to School Day.

At the elementary schools, the event is being organized by the Parents' Clubs' Green Committees. At Piedmont Middle and High schools, students from the Green Team and Environmental Student Union are planning activities to greet walkers and bicyclists. Neighbors and classmates are encouraged to make plans together ahead of time for how they can arrive at school that day by foot, bicycle, car pool -- or any other safe option that cuts down on the number of single-passenger cars arriving at school. To volunteer with Piedmont Walk and Roll to School Day at your school, or to become involved with your school's Safe Routes to School effort, contact your school's principal or Margaret Ovenden at movenden452@gmail.com.
