In Memory of Don Tishman: Phil Dean, the president of the Livermore Rotary Club, recently presented a check for $10,000 to RAVE (Rotarians Assisting Veterans's Education) in memory of Don Tishman. Tishman was a Livermore Rotarian and founder of the RAVE program. The check, which brought Livermore Rotarians' contribution to RAVE up to $21,000, was accepted by Todd Steffan, Las Positas College's director of the Student Veterans Program.

American Cancer Society honor: Dr. Peter Wong, Hope Hospice's chief medical officer, was recently honored by the American Cancer Society for his many years of work helping community cancer patients. He has been a medical leader with Hope Hospice for more than 30 years. He is also the founder of Valley Medical Oncology Consultants.

Hope Hospice is an organization that serves families in the Tri-Valley within their homes or facilities where they reside so they can live out their lives as fully as possible, in comfort and dignity, surrounded by family and friends.
