Workers, residents can help city craft image

City officials are seeking volunteers for interviews and focus groups Nov. 21-23 to help come up with a marketing brand for this fast-growing city.

Those who live, work or do business in Dublin are invited to sign up for 30-minute interviews in the daytime or a 90-minute focus group at night at the Dublin Civic Center, 100 Civic Plaza. To participate, contact Yashin Griffith at 925-833-6650 or yashin.griffith@dublin.ca.gov.

The Dublin City Council earlier this year hired outside experts to help come up with a brand for the city later this year.

Learn to write grant requests for nonprofits

Free grant-writing workshops will be put on Dec. 5 and Dec. 10 by the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton.

The 2014-15 grant programs are available to Tri-Valley nonprofits for City of Livermore Housing and Human Services, and in Pleasanton, there are Housing and Human Services grants and community grants for youth and civic arts.

Many of the grants are focused on activities to benefit lower-income residents. At the workshops, city workers will talk about the application processes and hand out application packets. Attendance at one of the workshops is mandatory to apply for Livermore grants and strongly encouraged for those offered by Pleasanton.

The Dec. 5 workshop will be held 10 a.m. to noon in the City Council chambers, 200 Old Bernal Ave., Pleasanton. The Dec. 10 session will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Livermore City Council chamber, 3575 Pacific Ave. To RSVP for either workshop call 925-960-4434, or email sljenkins@cityoflivermore.net.
