MONDAY, Dec. 30

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- Items were stolen overnight from a burgled vehicle on Cerrito Street.

  • AUTO RECOVERY -- At 12:30 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle on Hillside Avenue and found it had been reported as stolen out of El Cerrito. The owner was notified.

  • THEFT -- Officers responded to Safeway in the 1500 block of Solano Avenue at 5 p.m. on reports of a person who took several personal hygiene products without paying. Officers arrested the 48-year-old man for suspicion of petty theft and for a probation violation.

  • WARRANT -- At 7:30 p.m. officers arrested a 52-year-old transient man in the 1000 block of Eastshore near Target for an outstanding no-bail warrant.

  • DRUGS -- Officers investigating a person acting suspiciously at the waterfront park at 9 p.m. arrested the 61-year-old transient man in the 800 block of Buchanan Street for suspicion of drug possession and a probation violation.

    TUESDAY, Dec. 31

  • BURGLARY -- At 5:30 a.m. officers arrested a 47-year-old transient man for suspicion of burglary and false identity in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue and.

  • BAD CHECK -- Just before midnight officers contacted a person acting suspiciously in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue and arrested the 55-year-old Albany man for suspicion of passing a bad check and for making threats.

  • DUI -- Officers arrested a 25-year-old Richmond man near Solano Avenue and Jackson Street for suspicion of DUI.

  • AUTO BREAK-INS -- An unlocked car on Garfield Street was prowled overnight. It was unknown at the time if anything was taken. Items were stolen from a car on San Gabriel Street.

  • VANDALISM -- Vandals threw eggs at an apartment building on Evelyn Avenue overnight.

    THURSDAY, Jan. 2

  • DRUGS -- At 1:30 a.m. officers investigated a disturbance near the north lot of Golden Gate Fields. They arrested a 31-year-old Antioch man for suspicion of two counts of drug possession.

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- A car was burgled in the Target parking lot on the west side of the building during the day.

    FRIDAY, Jan. 3

  • OBSTRUCTION -- A Solano Avenue business owner reported that a large wooden spool of rope had been left on the sidewalk just east of Bank of America.

    SATURDAY, Jan. 4

  • PURSE SNATCHING -- At 1 a.m. officers responded to Safeway in the 1500 block of Solano Avenue on reports of a purse snatching. It was reported that a man stole a brown Cartier leather purse from the victim.

  • DISTURBANCE -- A Stannage Avenue resident called at 9:30 a.m. to report that people doing work at his home were sprayed with water from his neighbor's garden hose because the neighbor didn't like the noise they were making.

  • DISTURBANCE -- At 11 a.m. officers warned a shirtless man in a wheelchair who was going in and out of businesses, asking people for money and refusing to leave.

  • DISTURBANCE -- Officers responded to a disturbance between a husband and wife at a residence on Brighton Avenue at 10:30 p.m. The wife was reportedly throwing things and the husband wanted her to leave. Officers separated the two and the matter was resolved.

    SUNDAY, Jan. 5

  • DUI -- At 1:30 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle on San Pablo Avenue near Central Avenue for a vehicle code violation and a 27-year-old Albany man for suspicion of two counts of DUI.

  • THEFT -- Officers arrested a 31-year-old Emeryville woman at Target for suspicion of petty theft and a probation violation.

    MONDAY, Jan. 6

  • DRUGS -- At 2:30 a.m. officers contacted a person acting suspiciously on San Pablo Avenue near Dartmouth Street. They arrested the 49-year-old transient man for suspicion of drug possession and a probation violation.
