Patrol officers dispatched to investigate the report of a suspicious person on Monday arrested a man after he was found in possession of a stolen bicycle, police said.

Along with possessing stolen property, the 19-year-old man was booked on a charge of violating his felony probation after he was taken into custody about 8:10 a.m. in the 2200 block of Santa Clara Avenue, according to police.

The bicycle, which was stolen in the neighborhood a short time earlier, was returned to the owner, police said.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle theft was reported about 11:44 a.m. in the 300 block of Tideway Drive.

  • BULLETS FOUND -- A woman told police that she found four live bullets on the Bay Farm Island bridge while out for a walk about 12:30 p.m. Another woman reported 35 minutes later that she found a bullet in her driveway in the 2100 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- Vehicles were reported stolen at 6:15 a.m. in the 900 block of Shorepoint Court and about 7:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Central Avenue.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving about 8:10 p.m. in the 1800 block of Encinal Avenue.

  • FALSE REGISTRATION -- A woman, 43, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Foley Street after she was found driving a vehicle with a 2013 registration sticker, despite records showing the registration had expired in 2011, police said. The arrest occurred just before 10 p.m.

  • PETTY THEFT -- A woman reported at 11:45 p.m. that someone stole her purse after she accidentally left it on a shopping cart at Safeway at Alameda South Shore Center.

    FRIDAY, JAN. 3

  • UNDER THE INFLUENCE -- A man who punched and broke windows at a basement in the 600 block of Taylor Avenue was on high on a narcotic stimulant, police said. The man also faces a trespassing charge because he also allegedly entered the basement without permission. Police said the man failed a field sobriety test on drug use before he was arrested about 6:05 a.m.

  • RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police recovered a vehicle stolen in San Leandro at 12:55 p.m. in the 1600 block of Stanton Street. An attempted vehicle theft was reported at 3:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Sheffield Road.

    SATURDAY, JAN. 4

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man about 12:45 a.m. on suspicion of drunken driving after he was involved in a single vehicle collision at Doolittle and Island drives. The 33-year-old man, who admitted he was driving the vehicle, became combative as officers questioned him and refused to perform field sobriety tests, police said.

  • DRUG POSSESSION -- A man who was allegedly spotted taking part in a narcotics transaction at a business in the 1400 block of Park Street was arrested about 1 a.m. Officers also found the 24-year-old man in possession of cocaine after learning he was on probation and could be searched, police said.

  • GRAND THEFT -- Someone stole an outboard motor from a boat in the 1800 block of Clement Avenue. The theft was reported just before 4 p.m.

  • VEHICLE BURGLARY -- Thefts from two vehicles were reported between about 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue, police said. An attempted theft from a third vehicle parked on the block was reported about 9:30 a.m.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle reported stolen about 9:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Fifth Street was recovered later in the day by San Francisco police. Alameda police also recovered a vehicle stolen in Oakland about 12:05 p.m. in the 2400 block of Webb Avenue.

  • PETTY THEFT -- A security guard at the Target store on Fifth Street placed a woman under citizen's arrest after she allegedly shoplifted merchandise. While the woman, 31, paid for some items at a register, she had concealed others in her shopping cart, police said. The guard confronted and detained the woman after she exited the store about 7:20 p.m. She faces a charge of petty theft.
