A traffic stop Jan. 10 in the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue led to the arrest of the 58-year-old driver after he was found in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, police said.

The man, who was arrested about 12:20 a.m., also faces a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Police arrested two men after a traffic stop about 5:10 p.m. the previous day in the 1200 block of Regent Street.

The driver, 19, was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license, while his 21-year-old passenger faces charges of transporting marijuana for sales after the substance, cash and a scale were found in the vehicle, police said.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 8

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- A 22-year-old man detained during a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue was arrested about 8:20 p.m. after he was found in possession of suspected marijuana, police said. Officers found the marijuana, which was wrapped in plastic and packaged for sale, after learning the man could be searched as a condition of his probation, police said.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen at 9:35 p.m. in the 1200 block of Park Street. Patrol officers spotted the vehicle shortly after the theft, which occurred while it was unlocked and the keys were in the ignition. But the thief fled and evaded police.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 6:40 a.m. in the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway.

    FRIDAY, JAN. 10

    PROBATION VIOLATION -- A man who officers contacted as a suspicious person in the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway was arrested about 3:40 a.m. after a records check revealed that he was on probation and was out past his court-imposed curfew.

  • GRAND THEFT -- Someone stole three outboard motors from boats that were in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Viking Street. The theft was reported about 8:30 a.m.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen just before 11 a.m. at Third Street and Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 22, on suspicion of drunken driving following a traffic stop about 10:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Walnut Street. Another man, 47, was arrested for the same offense about 45 minutes later in the 2200 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

    SATURDAY, JAN. 11

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving following a traffic stop about 2:45 a.m. in the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue.

  • OUTSTANDING WARRANT -- A woman who was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for a traffic stop was taken into custody after a routine background check revealed that an outstanding misdemeanor warrant existed for her arrest. It happened about 2:35 p.m. at Chestnut Street and Santa Clara Avenue.

  • PETTY THEFT -- A woman, 41, who has three prior convictions for petty theft, was arrested about 3:10 p.m. after she shoplifted merchandise at Target on Fifth Street, police said. Along with petty theft, the woman faces charges of violating her probation and a stay-away order that prevents her from visiting the business.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 9:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Caroline Street. Police also recovered a stolen vehicle about 10:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of Taylor Avenue.

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- Police arrested a cyclist, 24, on suspicion of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana following a traffic stop about 10:10 p.m. at Webster Street and Buena Vista Avenue.

    SUNDAY, JAN. 12

  • DRUG POSSESSION -- Police arrested a 30-year-old man about 1:35 a.m. in a parking lot in the 2300 block of Blanding Avenue after he was allegedly found in possession of hydrocodone pills without a prescription. Officers initially detained the man as a suspicious person. Police also arrested a 27-year-old man about 11:05 p.m. after he was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine, as well as a pipe for smoking the substance, in the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 30, on suspicion of drunken driving following a traffic stop about 1:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Park Street/

  • PETTY THEFT -- A thief who stole items from Safeway at Alameda South Shore Center fled from the business on foot after being confronted by employees while loading the merchandise into the trunk of a vehicle, police said. The vehicle was stolen in Oakland. It happened just before 3 p.m.

  • GRAND THEFT -- Someone stole a boat from the 1200 block of Pacific Marina. The theft was reported about 4:15 p.m.
