Albany police log: Fruit thrown at house; fire extinguished on waterfront; loud music prompts complaint

MONDAY, Jan. 6 AUTO BREAK-IN -- Thieves rifled through a vehicle overnight on Madison Street and stole paperwork for disabled placards.
TUESDAY, Jan. 7 LOITERING AND DISTURBANCE -- From midnight to 2 a.m. officers warned several people acting suspiciously in various parts of town. ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN -- A Washington Avenue resident reported an attempted overnight home burglary. NO LICENSE -- At 4 p.m. officers arrested a 26-year-old Stockton woman in the 900 block of Pierce Street for suspicion of driving with a suspended license. VANDALISM -- A resident on Adams Street reported that a person came halfway up her driveway, picked fruit off her tree and threw it at her garage door really hard. The fruit bounced back and hit her car.
WEDNESDAY, Jan. 8 DUI -- Officers stopped a vehicle near Albany Bowl in the 500 block of San Pablo Avenue at 10:30 a.m. for a vehicle code violation and arrested a 24-year-old Berkeley man for suspicion of DUI and driving with a suspended license. HOME BREAK-IN -- Between noon and 2:30 p.m. thieves broke into a residence on Santa Fe Avenue by prying a side door and stole items.
THURSDAY, Jan. 9 DRUG POSSESSION -- Officers stopped a vehicle near Marin and Kains avenues at 10 p.m. for a vehicle code violation and cited a 19-year-old Albany man for suspicion of drug possession.
FRIDAY, Jan. 10 CITATION -- At 2 p.m. officers cited a vehicle registered in Kensington that was blocking a driveway on Ramona Avenue. HIT AND RUN -- Officers responded to a CHP request for assistance in investigating a hit-and-run incident at 2 a.m. where the suspect was seen fleeing the area. The suspect vehicle was found on Interstate 580 near the eastbound ramp to Buchanan Street. A search of the area located the suspect and resulted in an arrest by CHP.
SATURDAY, Jan. 11 FIGHTING -- At 2 a.m. officers responded to reports of an altercation near Club Mallard in the 700 block of San Pablo Avenue. They arrested a 28-year-old Oakland man near Washington Avenue and Adams Street for suspicion of battery. DISTURBANCE -- Officers warned residents on Madison Street at 8 p.m. after neighbors complained of loud music all day.
SUNDAY, Jan. 12 DUI -- Officers stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of San Pablo Avenue at 1:30 a.m. for a vehicle code violation and arrested a 30-year-old Antioch man for suspicion of two counts of DUI. SMALL FIRE -- At 6:30 a.m. firefighters extinguished a fire at Golden Gate Fields near the dog walking area. AUTO BREAK-IN -- During the day a GPS system was stolen from a car on Masonic Avenue.
MONDAY, Jan. 13 TRESPASSING -- At 1:30 a.m. officers warned a man who was sleeping in front of the AM/PM on San Pablo Avenue and refusing to leave.
