OAKLAND -- The East Bay Municipal Utility District board on Tuesday will consider asking customers to voluntarily reduce their water use by 10 percent.

The water board meets at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at district headquarters, 375 Eleventh St., Oakland.

EBMUD administrators on Friday recommended the district set the 10 percent conservation goal for now, and consider later whether other actions are warranted to cope with drought water shortages.
