Friday, Jan. 31

  • 9:07 a.m. -- Windsor Avenue. Someone reported a garage had been burglarized within the last couple of days.

  • 9:56 a.m. -- Ramona/Ronada avenues. Someone slashed the tires on a Ford Ranger.

  • 11:41 a.m. -- Ricardo Avenue. Someone broke into a red Toyota Prius the day prior and stole $100 in cash and change.

  • 5:07 p.m. -- Bonita Avenue. A motorist struck a parked Honda Accord.

  • 6:50 p.m. -- Grand Avenue. Police arrested the driver of a stolen vehicle that was recovered in the Safeway parking lot. A woman and two children were in the vehicle and he had reportedly held them at gunpoint.

  • 7:44 p.m. -- Hampton Road. Someone reportedly stole a bicycle.

    Saturday, Feb. 1

  • 3:33 p.m. -- King Avenue. A man was reported having sat in a dark SUV since noon.

    Sunday, Feb. 2

  • 9:13 p.m. -- Oakland. Someone vandalized a political sign.

  • 11:46 p.m. -- Manor Drive. Three teens were reportedly kicking over signs.

    Monday, Feb. 3

  • 3:19 p.m. -- Wildwood Avenue. A motorist broke off the driver's side mirror of a parked vehicle.

    Tuesday, Feb. 4

  • 1:33 p.m. -- Sunnyside Avenue. Someone reported a neighbor's home had been burglarized.

    Wednesday, Feb. 5

  • 1:47 a.m. -- Wildwood Avenue. A man was arrested for a health and safety violation.

  • 4:32 a.m. -- Nova Drive. Someone found a white backpack containing real estate books and a toothbrush.

  • 8:45 a.m. -- Oakland. A live skunk was found inside of a water pump.

  • 2:47 p.m. -- Requa Road. Someone left a heater on the front door step of a residence.

  • 6:14 p.m. -- Boulevard Way. Someone reported identity theft, stating that the culprit had tried to open four credit card accounts and was successful with one. The loss is $1,200.

  • 6:35 p.m. -- Arbor Drive. A home burglary was reported.

    Thursday, Feb. 6

  • 9:18 a.m. -- Fairview Avenue. A backpack containing books was stolen from a parked vehicle.

  • 8:33 p.m. -- Oakland. A burglary of a residence was reported.

    Before you go to sleep, be sure the fire is out in your fireplace. Never close your damper with hot ashes in the fireplace. This will help the fire to heat up again and will force carbon monoxide into the house.
