Police arrested a 36-year-old man after officers visited his residence to check whether he was abiding by the conditions of his parole and they allegedly discovered suspected narcotics and paraphernalia.

An agent with the state Department of Corrections authorized that the man, who was arrested about 11:45 p.m. Feb. 11 in the 2200 block of Pacific Avenue, be taken into custody.

Alameda officers also carried out parole and probation searches the same day in the 600 block of Santa Clara Avenue, where they found suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a round of ammunition, and on St. Charles Street, where they also found methamphetamine and a fake driver's license, police said.

SATURDAY, FEB. 8

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 51, on suspicion of drunken driving after a traffic stop about 7:15 a.m. at Constitution Way and Atlantic Avenue. The man also faces a child endangerment charge because his son, a minor, was with him while he was driving, police said. A 28-year-old woman was arrested on a drunken driving charge at 11:25 p.m. in the 1500 block of Lafayette Street after she was involved in a hit-and-run collision, police said. Another driver, 33, who also attempted to flee following an accident in the Webster Tube, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. on suspicion of drunken driving, police said.

  • NARCOTICS PARAPHERNALIA -- A cyclist who an officer detained for a municipal code violation was arrested after he was found with drug paraphernalia, police said. The man, 48, who was wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, was booked on suspicion of violating his parole and probation. The arrest occurred about 7:35 p.m. in the 1600 block of Park Street.

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- A motorist, 25, who an officer pulled over for expired registration, was arrested after he was found in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, police said. The traffic stop occurred about 9:30 p.m. at Challenger Drive and Marina Village Parkway.

    SUNDAY, FEB. 9

  • BURGLARY -- Police arrested a 29-year-old man about 3:40 a.m. in the 1100 block of Park Avenue, where he was allegedly caught trying to steal bicycles in a backyard. The man was carrying suspected burglary tools and was next to the bikes, which had cut locks, police said. He was also in possession of property stolen from the victim's residence and vehicle, police said. Among the charges the man faces is violating his probation for possessing stolen property. Another burglary was reported about 8:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of Poggi Street, where a resident confronted two individuals after they had cut locks from multiple storage lockers. The suspects, who also entered lockers, fled the scene before officers arrived.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- Vehicles were reported stolen about 11:25 a.m. in the 2100 block of San Jose Avenue and about 4:30 p.m. at El Paseo and Verdemar Drive.

  • NARCOTICS POSSESSION -- A traffic stop in the 1700 block of Park Street led to the arrest of two men just before midnight. The driver, 54, who was on probation, was arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics and paraphernalia. His passenger, 37, also on probation, was accused of having paraphernalia, plus he was in possession of shaved keys and burglary tools.

    MONDAY, FEB. 10

  • PROBATION VIOLATION -- Police arrested a man, 39, on suspicion of petty theft after he was allegedly spotted at Fifth Street and Buena Vista Avenue opening an envelope that did not belong to him. The man, who admitted taking the envelope without permission, was also booked on suspicion of violating his probation. It happened about 5:40 p.m.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- A woman who was found sleeping in a vehicle with the engine running was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The 50-year-old woman admitted driving the vehicle before officers contacted her about 10:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of Park Street, police said.

    TUESDAY, FEB. 11

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 9:10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Park Street.

  • OUTSTANDING WARRANT -- A man who contacted officers after his boat became stuck in the Oakland-Alameda Estuary was arrested after a background check revealed he was wanted on a felony warrant for allegedly possessing stolen property, police said. The man, 46, who was arrested about 11:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of Bayview Drive, also faces charges of possessing burglary tools and resisting or obstructing police, records show.

    WEDNESDAY, FEB. 12

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen at 7:10 a.m. in the 1400 block of Sixth Street.

  • NARCOTICS PARAPHERNALIA -- A man, 67, who an officer contacted as a suspicious person because he was sleeping in a vehicle was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia. The officer searched the man, who was arrested about 9:50 a.m. in the 700 block of Atlantic Avenue, after learning he was on probation, police said.

  • GRAND THEFT -- Police arrested a man, 51, on suspicion of grand theft after he allegedly stole a bicycle during what officers described as a sting operation in the 1200 block of Park Street. It happened about 6:40 p.m.

  • VANDALISM -- A woman arrested for public intoxication faces a vandalism charge after she kicked the window of a patrol car while in a rear seat and handcuffed, police said. Officers initially contacted the 44-year-old woman about 11:10 p.m. in the 300 block of Park Street, where they were investigating a disturbance. After she damaged the window, officers placed her in the "wrap," a restraining device that can be tightened around a suspect's legs, police said.
