A Vallejo woman escaped injury this weekend from a man who held her briefly against her will in her house as he tried to elude police, a Vallejo Police Department spokesman said.
Responding to complaints of drug sales, Operation Safe Net Officers patrolling the Arkansas Street area around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, tried contacting Anthony Pratt, but he took off running, Lt. John Whitney said. Pratt jumped several fences during his attempted escape, he said.
Officers set up a perimeter around the area and began a search, Whitney said.
"During the search, a female victim flagged down an officer and reported that Pratt had entered her home in the 200 block of Arkansas and held her against her will," Whitney said. "The female victim attempted to escape, but Pratt held her around her neck and held his hand over her mouth."
Pratt then fled the residence and hid in a nearby apartment, Whitney said. Officers eventually located Pratt and took him into custody without further incident and the woman identified him as the man who had held her in her house, he said.
Pratt was booked into the Solano County Jail for a parole violation, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon and trespassing.
