SAN LEANDRO -- Kaiser is opening its medical offices here Monday, moving some departments from its Hayward site, which will remain open but with fewer services.
The health-care provider also is shifting some departments from its Union City medical offices to San Leandro.
The San Leandro medical offices off Interstate 880 and Marina Boulevard will have 60 physicians and 360 other employees. When Kaiser opens its 264-bed San Leandro hospital in June, that will increase to 2,500 staff members and doctors at the medical campus.
Kaiser also is shutting down its Hayward hospital June 3, transferring even more departments, including its emergency room, to San Leandro, but it will keep its Hayward Sleepy Hollow medical office building open.
