SAN LEANDRO - Firefighters battled a one-alarm fire at the rear of a San Leandro business on Monday night, an Alameda County fire battalion chief said.
Fire crews responded to a report of the fire in the 600 block of E. 14th Street around 9:15 p.m., Battalion Chief Ronnie Oatis said.
The blaze was under control by about 10:20 p.m., fire officials said.
Firefighters found a large tractor tire in flames against the rear of the business, he said.
The blaze caused an estimated $5,000 in damages to the rear of the building and ceiling, Oatis said.
No one was inside the business during the fire, he said.
