O'Dowd takes two from Encinal
Bishop O'Dowd High School baseball player Leo Nierenberg (11) connects against Encinal during their West Alameda County Conference-Foothill Division game at Bishop O'Dowd on April 11. Nierenberg was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored, but his greatest contribution to the Dragons' win very well might have come from his pitching. The sophomore right-hander pitched six innings of two-hit, shutout ball with 10 strikeouts and no walks as Bishop O'Dowd beat Encinal 7-0. Teammates Nkosi Djehuti-Mes and Kaelan Ashford-Jones also had hits and one RBI each in the victory. In a 5-2 win over Encinal on April 9, Channing Nesbitt was 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI in the victory, and he also got the pitching win.
