TUESDAY, April 15

  • DUI -- Just after midnight a 32-year-old El Cerrito man was arrested in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of two counts of DUI.

  • PROBATION -- Officers stopped a bike rider near the Buchanan Street interchange at 1 p.m. and arrested the 53-year-old transient man living at the Albany Bulb for suspicion of a probation violation and for resisting arrest.

    WEDNESDAY, April 16

  • DUI -- Shortly after midnight officers stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue for a vehicle code violation and arrested a 24-year-old El Cerrito man for suspicion of DUI.

  • ARGUMENT -- At 11:30 a.m. officers intervened in a dispute between a Santa Fe Avenue resident and a caretaker.

  • HONDA STOLEN -- A blue 1987 Honda was stolen overnight from in front of an Ordway Avenue residence.

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- A Taft Street resident reported that he left for a trip the previous Friday and returned on Wednesday to discover that the catalytic converter had been stolen off his car.

  • BURGLAR -- At 9:30 p.m. a Curtis Street resident reported seeing a person with a pry bar and flashlight jumping over the fence into the yard of a neighbor on vacation. Officers investigated.

  • THEFT -- Thieves broke into a group of mailboxes at an Evelyn Avenue apartment building during the day.

  • DISTURBANCE -- At 8:30 p.m. officers warned a group of three men who were allegedly smoking marijuana and playing rap music at picnic tables in Memorial Park.

  • DISTURBANCE -- Shortly before midnight officers arrested a 23-year-old Albany man in the 1100 block of Eastshore for suspicion of causing a disturbance and disorderly conduct.

    FRIDAY, April 18

  • HOME BREAK-IN -- A residence on Curtis Street was burglarized sometime between April 16 and April 18. Officers are investigating.

  • TRESPASSING -- At 7 p.m. officers warned two men who were trespassing on private property on Pierce Street after being told to leave.

  • THEFT -- A 75-pound concrete Buddha statue was stolen off a front porch on Portland Avenue sometime during the previous two days.

  • THREATS -- A 32-year-old transient man from Oakland was arrested in the 800 block of San Pablo Avenue for suspicion of battery and making terrorist threats when the owner of the Albany Hill Mini Mart said he made reference to having a gun.

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- Between 9 and 10 p.m. thieves smashed the front passenger window of a car on Solano Avenue near Evelyn Avenue and stole items from inside.

  • HIT-AND-RUN -- At 11 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle injury accident on San Pablo Avenue near Portland Avenue between a red Mitsubishi Eclipse and a motorcycle. The Mitsubishi had fled the scene heading east on Portland Avenue. Officers located and arrested a 19-year-old El Cerrito man for suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury.

    SATURDAY, April 19

  • FIGHT -- Officers separated two women who were having a physical altercation on San Pablo Avenue at 1:30 a.m.

  • DISTURBANCE -- At 2 a.m. officers warned a group of people playing loud music at Memorial Park.

  • HIT AND RUN -- At 5 p.m. a caller reported that a car was sideswiped a few minutes earlier while parked on Marin Avenue by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

  • VANDALISM -- During the day vandals "keyed" a car on Fillmore Street.

  • DUI -- At 10 p.m. officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident on Key Route Boulevard causing the parked car to go up onto the center median. A witness reported seeing a vehicle in the Albany Middle School parking lot with damage to the front end. Officers investigated and arrested a 43-year-old El Cerrito man for suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.

    SUNDAY, April 20

  • ROBBERY -- At 1 a.m. a caller reported being robbed at gunpoint while near Building 166 in UC Village by a man who reportedly had a gun concealed in the front sweatshirt pocket and followed the caller from the parking lot to the apartment and stole a white iPhone and cash. Officers are investigating.

  • STOLEN CAR -- Officers investigated a vehicle at Taco Bell in the 600 block of San Pablo Avenue. A check found it had been reported as stolen. The driver, a 26-year-old Oakland man, was arrested for suspicion of being in possession of a stolen car and for driving with a suspended license. The owner was notified and the vehicle was towed.

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- The right front window of a car on Pierce Street was smashed and items stolen from inside overnight.

  • DISORDERLY -- Officers investigated a person on the corner of Marin and San Pablo avenues at 6 p.m. who appeared to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. They arrested the 47-year-old transient man from Richmond for suspicion of disorderly conduct.
