Albany police log: Electronics targeted at Target; drug arrest on Cornell Avenue; bike swiped on Pierce Street

MONDAY, June 9 AUTO THEFT -- A vehicle on Solano Avenue was stolen overnight. TOW -- At 12:30 p.m. a vehicle blocking a Kains Avenue driveway was towed when the resident complained. TOW -- A vehicle blocking a Stannage Avenue driveway was towed at 6 p.m. when the resident complained. HOME BREAK-IN -- At 7:30 p.m. on Portland Avenue resident reported items stolen in a home burglary.
TUESDAY, June 10 DUI -- A 22-year-old El Cerrito woman was arrested near Fairmount and Carlson at 2 a.m. for suspicion of two counts of DUI. DRUG USE -- At 11:30 p.m. a 22-year-old San Pablo man was arrested for suspicion of two counts of drug use and a probation violation.
WEDNESDAY, June 11 DRUG POSSESSION -- At 1 a.m. officers arrested a 32-year-old man at the Albany waterfront for suspicion of two counts of drug possession. NO LICENSE -- A 33-year-old Richmond man was arrested at Happy Donut on the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue at 3:30 a.m. for suspicion of driving with a suspended license and for an outstanding Albany warrant. HOME BREAK-IN -- At noon a Pomona Avenue resident reported returning home and finding the home broken into and items stolen. DRUGS -- Officers received a report at 1:30 p.m. of two women in a vehicle on Cornell Avenue near Marin Avenue who appeared to be using drugs and had been seen doing this the previous three days. Officers arrested a 33-year-old Sebastopol woman for suspicion of two counts of drug possession. THIEVES APPREHENDED -- At 3:30 p.m. officers responded to Target on Eastshore on reports of three people who appeared to be cutting electronic items from locking devices and stashing them in their clothing. Security reported that two of the suspects had been involved in similar incidents the previous week. Officers arrested a 33-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man, and a 19-year-old man, all from Berkeley, for suspicion of burglary and conspiracy.
THURSDAY, June 12 BIKE STOLEN -- A man's gray/silver Trek bike with a black basket on the back right side was stolen overnight from a Pierce Street residence.
FRIDAY, June 13 DUI -- Just after midnight officers stopped a vehicle on San Pablo Avenue near Central Avenue for a vehicle code violation and arrested a 27-year-old Oakland man for suspicion of two counts of DUI. DRUGS -- At 10:30 a.m. a 49-year-old transient man was arrested near Buchanan Street and the Interstate 580 off-ramp for suspicion of two counts of drug possession. WARRANT -- Just before midnight officers stopped a bicycle rider on the 1100 block of Brighton Avenue for a traffic code violation and arrested a 32-year-old El Cerrito man for an outstanding warrant and resisting arrest.
SATURDAY, June 14 DISTURBANCE -- At 12:30 a.m. officers responded to reports of a parent arguing with a student outside Albany Bowl in the 500 block of San Pablo Avenue. They arrested the 43-year-old Albany woman for suspicion of disorderly conduct. DRUGS -- A 37-year-old Richmond man was arrested in the 1000 block of San Pablo Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. for suspicion of drug possession and a probation violation.
