Sunol: big-rig catches fire on Highway 84; no injuries

No one was injured after a big-rig mysteriously caught fire Monday night on Highway 84 in Sunol, according to the California Highway Patrol. 
The ex-girlfriend of accused killer Darnell Williams, who faces the death penalty for the deaths of killing Alaysha Carradine, 8, and Anthony Medearis Jr., testified against him Monday.  
Judge Julia Spain's order transferring control of the Tribune Tower and other Oakland properties and assets to a court-appointed receiver is the latest legal blow to Thomas Henderson, a 67-year-old Oakland resident, who has portrayed himself as a selfless job creator, but has been hounded by creditors and accused of bad faith dealings from former business partners.  
Four contenders are seeking election in November to the District 9 seat being vacated by Loni Hancock that serves the area west of the East Bay hills from San Leandro on the south to Rodeo on the north and includes Oakland, Berkeley and Richmond.  
A 20-year-old Oakland man was in custody after his arrest last week on suspicion of burglary, auto theft and possession of burglary tools, police said.
