FREMONT -- The Irvington High football team forced four turnovers, including three interceptions, in a 47-0 win over Mission San Jose on Saturday at Tak Fudenna Stadium to remain undefeated in the Mission Valley Athletic League.

Quarterback Andrew Trujillo tossed a pair of touchdown passes and Tyler Roe added another on defense in a five-minute span of the first quarter that pushed the Vikings (3-2, 2-0) to a 28-0 lead and were never threatened.

Jared Lozoya scored from 8 yards out on Irvington's second play from scrimmage before Trujillo found Daniel Gusev in the back of the end zone for an 18-yard pass play to give Irvington a 14-0 lead with six minutes left in the opening quarter. Roe then stepped in front of a Tamim Sarwary pass and returned it 18 yards to the end zone just 54 seconds later and Walter Mitchell caught a 17-yard touchdown from Trujillo.

The Warriors (1-4, 0-2) had a golden opportunity to get on the board in the second quarter, reaching the Vikings 2, but the Irvington defense buckled down to hold Mission on four straight running plays to keep them out of the end zone.

Lozoya led the Vikings with 155 yards on the ground with two touchdowns and Chauncey Jones added 96 yards and two scores. Zavier Cabral-Artero led the Warriors with 42 yards on the ground on 13 attempts.
