MARTINEZ -- A Berkeley man accused of killing a Danville teen during an attempted marijuana robbery is scheduled for trial Dec. 5.

The trial for Walter Bell, 20, was set Monday during a Contra Costa County Superior Court appearance by Bell in Martinez, at which he also pleaded not guilty. Bell is charged with murdering Rylan Fuchs, 17, in a shooting outside the boy's family home.

Prosecutors say Bell was trying to rob Fuchs of marijuana in the Jan. 20, 2009 shooting. Bell told investigators that the gunfire was accidental.
