CASTRO VALLEY-- A motorist was uninjured after crashing a car into a restaurant in a small shopping center Wednesday morning, Alameda County firefighters said.
Around 8:25 a.m., a woman in a black BMW drove through the front window of Lime Leaf Thai restaurant in the Castro Village shopping center at 20634 Rustic Drive, said Armigh Carrizalez, an Alameda County firefighter.
Authorities said she mistakenly stepped on the gas instead of the brakes and accelerated into the building's main facade. The driver was the vehicle's only occupant and left the scene unharmed, Carrizalez said.
The building sustained no structural damage beyond damage to the broken window, firefighters said.
No injuries were reported.
