ALAMEDA COUNTY -- Police have released the names of those arrested early Sunday in connection with a police chase on Interstate 880 as well as the name of a suspected drunken driver who plowed into a cruiser following the chase.
Police said 33-year-old Robert A. Gallardo, who authorities said was on parole, was driving the stolen Honda Accord that started the chase about 3 a.m. on Interstate 880 San Lorenzo. The chase continued onto Interstate 238 until Gallardo crashed in Castro Valley, police said, then ditched the car and ran, ultimately breaking his ankle when he jumped a fence and fell 30 feet to the ground below. A passenger in the car, Anthony Gonzales, 30, also was arrested on outstanding warrants, police said.
A third person, identified as Brittany Green, 19, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after the chase had ended, when authorities said she crashed into a San Leandro police car that was on the scene. No one was injured in the crash.
Cities of residence for the suspects were not immediately available.
