HALF MOON BAY -- Some condo residents had their homes covered last week with a fumigation tent and injected with bug killer, unfortunately the pesticide didn't do much against burglars.
After being away for the several day-long pest treatment, at least two families on the 400 block of Oak Avenue reported Thursday their homes had been broken into, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
In one case the burglar sliced open the fumigation tent in order to get into a condo. The crook took a camera as well as gold earrings from the home, whose residents were away for five days due to the fumigation.
Another family said someone had busted into their condo and had rummaged through their possessions, but didn't take anything. They had been away for four days.
