SAN LEANDRO -- A "Day at the Casa" is planned for Saturday at Casa Peralta and the San Leandro History Museum.
San Leandro resident Takeo Kato will discuss "My Family's World War II Internment: Tanforan Horse Stables and the Utah Desert" at 11:30 a.m. in the museum auditorium.
"San Leandro Stories" will be presented at 2 p.m. The six stories of San Leandro residents were produced by the San Leandro Public Library in conjunction with the Media Arts Center of San Diego.
Carlos Salomon will talk about his book "Pío Pico: the Last Spanish Governor of California" at 4 p.m. Docents will lead free tours of Casa Peralta throughout the day.
The San Leandro Historical Society is sponsoring a San Leandro-themed art show, as well as providing crafts and old-fashioned games.
In the courtyard, flamenco guitarist Gopal Slavonik will play at 12:15 and 2:30 p.m., and Compania México Danza will perform at 1:15 p.m.
Casa Peralta is at 384 W. Estudillo Ave., and the museum is next door at 320 W. Estudillo.
