HAYWARD -- The League of Women Voters Eden League is holding a candidates forum for the 20th Assembly District and the Alameda County District 2 supervisors on Oct. 3.

Former Hayward Councilman Bill Quirk, a Democrat, and Hayward optometrist Jennifer Ong, also a Democrat, are running for the 20th Assembly. The district includes Hayward, Union City and the northern part of Fremont as well as the Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Sunol, Ashland, Fairview and Cherryland unincorporated areas.

Four candidates are seeking election in Alameda County Supervisorial District 2: incumbent Richard Valle, Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi, Union City Mayor Mark Green and retired deputy sheriff Mark Turnquist. The district includes Hayward, Newark and Union City, as well as part of Fremont and Sunol,

The forum is 6 to 9 p.m. at Hayward City Hall Council Chambers, 777 B St.
