OAKLEY -- Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a train Tuesday night.
No one else was injured. The incident was reported about 10:30 p.m. on a BNSF freight line near Main Street and Big Break Road, according to Sgt. Robert Hartman of the Oakley Police Department.
Contra Costa Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said the victim was a white male. An official at the Contra Costa Coroner's Office said his identity would be held pending notification of his next of kin.
Investigators were still trying to determine whether the death was a suicide or an accident.
