SAN JOSE -- Gas prices in San Jose saw a minimal drop for a third day in a row, though the average cost for a gallon of remains near an all-time high.
The average price of a gallon of gas in San Jose on Friday dropped 2 cents to $4.64, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. The cost per gallon is up by more than 50 cents from a week ago.
Motorists in San Jose are paying about .80 cents more a gallon than this time last year, according to the fuel gauge report. The average price of $4.68 on Monday was an all-time high in the San Jose area.
Prices at pumps in Oakland also dropped 2 cents overnight to an average of $4.64. In San Francisco, the average price dropped by 1 cent to $4.72.
