The Clayton Valley High football team scored on its first seven possessions en route to a 49-7 Diablo Valley Athletic League victory over visiting College Park on Friday night.

Clayton Valley (6-1, 2-0 DVAL) led 14-0 after the first quarter, then erupted for 28 additional points in a frenetic second period.

The Eagles only held the ball for a grand total of 10 plays and 3:19 in the second quarter but racked up 210 yards, averaging 2.5 plays and 50 seconds per scoring drive in the frame.

Standout tailback Joe Protheroe carried but six times in the first half and still managed to finish with 175 yards and two scores, including a 62-yard scamper to start the game's scoring and an 85-yard burst to trigger the offensive detonation in the second quarter.

Quarterback Dimitri Salido rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown to lead College Park (3-4, 1-1).
