UNION CITY -- A symposium to help East Bay small businesses has been scheduled Nov. 8 at a Union City hotel.
The event is sponsored by the East Bay Economic Development Alliance, an Oakland-based agency that helps businesses grow and create jobs in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
The community is invited to attend the symposium from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Oakland South-Union City at 32083 Alvarado Niles Road.
Small business owners can learn about the resources available to them by networking with professionals specializing in several fields, including public relations, marketing, human resources and social media, said Scott Peterson, deputy director of East Bay Economic Development Alliance.
"It's a unique opportunity for small business owners to interact with a variety of resource providers that help small businesses grow and thrive," Peterson said.
Admission is free for startups and small businesses, though a reservation is required to attend.
