CASTRO VALLEY -- The Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council launched its own website Monday.

Before, those wanting to get the Municipal Advisory Council's agenda had to go through Alameda County's website, then go to the planning department and then to agendas, said Bob Swanson of county Supervisor Nate Miley's office.

"The MAC had suggested that maybe we should have a MAC website, with links to things in Castro Valley so that it's easier for people to know what's going on. We said, 'Hey, that's a good idea,'" Swanson said.

The website www.cvmac.com also can be accessed through the county's board and commissions website at www.acgov.org/bc/cvmac. The website includes information about the council, how to contact its members, a calendar of upcoming meetings, agendas and meeting minutes.

The Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council was created in April 1981 to advise county supervisors on Castro Valley matters.
