MARTINEZ -- Firefighters made quick work of a single-alarm blaze at an apartment Thursday morning, knocking the fire down in about 10 minutes.

The fire in the 900 block of Roanoake Drive was reported at 9:06 a.m. and declared under control about 9:16 a.m., according to a Contra Costa Fire dispatcher.

No one was injured. A dog was rescued from the apartment and will be taken by Contra Costa Animal Services until the owners can be contacted.
