MORAGA -- School board trustees will discuss on Nov. 13 adopting revisions to existing district policy on child abuse prevention and reporting.
Administrators have been working on updating the guidelines since August, following the formation of a student safety committee in June. They have been struggling with language on mandated team reporting and concerns about a perceived flaw in the California Penal Code they say delegates mandated reporter duties in a situation where two or more mandated reporters know of suspected or actual abuse.
Trustees will also discuss a lawsuit filed against the district by former Joaquin Intermediate School student Kristen Cunnane and a vacancy on the school board following board president Dexter Louie's resignation Nov. 7. Louie was re-elected to the board Nov. 6.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School auditorium, 1010 Camino Pablo.
