CONCORD -- A bank robber struck at a U.S. Bank branch inside a supermarket Tuesday afternoon, police said.
No one was injured. The robbery was reported about 1:05 p.m. at the branch inside the Safeway at 2600 Willow Pass Road.
The suspect, described as a white male in his mid-20s, about 6'4" and 150 pounds, entered the market and handed the teller a note demanding cash. He did not display a weapon, according to Concord police Lt. Robin Heinemann.
The robber took an unspecified amount of cash, then fled on foot, Heinemann said. Officers searched the area around the bank, but did not find the suspect.
