HERCULES -- Approximately 3,800 customers were without power in Hercules and Pinole for several hours Wednesday night, according to PG&E.
The outage was reported around 5:26 p.m. and was caused by a downed wire on the 1200 block of Pinole Valley Road, said PG&E spokesperson J.D. Guidi.
PG&E fully restored power to all but one customer by 8:50 p.m., Guidi said.
Initially, maintenance crews were able to tackle the outage and restore power to roughly 2,800 customers, but by about 7:27 p.m., maintenance crews were still working to restore power to roughly 1,000 people.
The cause of the downed wire is under investigation.
Two power outages also were reported in Richmond, where more than 100 customers lost power.
The power outages were not related, and the cause of the Richmond outages wasn't immediately available.
