OAKLAND -- A woman was shot and killed in a home near 103rd and Longfellow avenues, Police said Friday, marking the city's 117th homicide of the year.
The shooter, a man whose identity has not been released by Oakland police, was arrested and in custody late Friday.
Officers responded to the shooting about 8:22 p.m. As of 10:30 p.m., homicide detectives were still at the scene investigating the incident, Oakland police added.
Additional information was not immediately available, but police have asked motorists and pedestrians to avoid that area for the next few hours.
This is Oakland's 117th homicide of the year.
Less than two weeks ago, Alameda resident Francisco Rosas, 26, was found fatally shot in his car at the intersection of Russet and Moorpark streets on Nov. 28.
No arrests have been made in his death.
