UNION CITY -- Police have released a sketch of one of three suspects involved in an interrupted home invasion robbery that left the homeowner injured.
A resident of the home on the 300 block of Whipple Avenue entered the house while a robbery was in progress, Cpl. Bob Kensic said. Two of the three suspects ran from the house, while a third stayed behind and confronted the resident, pulling out a sharp-edged object during the struggle and slashing the man.
The victim's injuries were not life threatening, Kensic said. All three suspects took off in a mid-90s, light-colored, four-door Nissan, that was last seen traveling southbound on C street.
The suspect depicted in the sketch is the man who reportedly cut the victim, and is described as a Hispanic male adult between 21 and 25 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 150 pounds and 160 pounds. He is described as having light brown "spiky" hair, a light complexion and was last seen wearing a white tank top and blue jeans.
The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 25 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 190 pounds. He is described as having shoulder length wavy hair, a dark complexion and a pock marked face with a thin mustache.
The third suspect was described only as a Hispanic male about 5 feet 10 inches in height. No further description was immediately available on this man.
