Coach of the Year

John Vuong, Campolindo

When Scott Bishop, who won two state titles, resigned as coach of the Campolindo High girls volleyball team last year, finding the right replacement was not going to be an easy task. It's safe to say the school couldn't have done better when it hired John Vuong, who lived up to the enormous expectations. Vuong led the Cougars to the co-championship of the Diablo Foothill Athletic League, the North Coast Section and Northern California Division III titles and a 30-5 record.

ANNIE SHURTZ, Campolindo, H, Sr. -- The Diablo Foothill Athletic League MVP led the Cougars to the North Coast Section and Northern California Division III title. She finished with 500 kills, 54 blocks and 49 aces.

SABRINA CLAYTON, California, H, Sr. -- The Santa Clara-bound Clayton helped the Grizzlies to an East Bay Athletic League title and their first NCS championship in 30 years. She had 583 kills, 259 digs, 57 aces and 44 blocks and was named the EBAL's MVP.

MICHELLE LAWRENCE, Northgate, H, Sr. -- The Colorado State-Bound Lawrence led the Broncos to a 30-9 season and finished the year with 457 kills, 227 digs, 35 blocks and 31 aces. She was the Diablo Valley Athletic League's MVP.

KYRA HOLT, Albany, H, Sr. -- Holt, who is bound for Washington State, was the MVP of the Tri-County Athletic League's Rock Division and led the Cougars to a 34-5 record and the semifinals of the NCS Division III playoffs. She finished with 438 kills and 55 aces.

EMILY REDER, San Ramon Valley, H, Sr. -- A four-year standout on the varsity level, Reder earned first team All-EBAL honors in 2012 with 589 kills, 479 digs, 63 aces and 31 blocks.

SOPHIE SEIBERTH, Campolindo, S, Sr. -- Seiberth finished her third season as Campolindo's setter with 920 assists, 65 digs and 42 aces. She was first team All-DFAL.

SOPHIA MAR, Bishop O'Dowd, S, Jr. -- The ever-improving Mar was the West Alameda County Conference's MVP and finished the season with an 1,026 assists in 38 matches.

KYLE CARSON, Bishop O'Dowd, L, Jr. -- Carson continued the tradition of outstanding liberos at Bishop O'Dowd. She was first-team All-WACC and had 722 digs for the season.

SECOND TEAM

Brianna Karsseboom, Bishop O'Dowd, H, Sophomore -- Had 646 kills and was first team All-WACC.

Phoebe Grunt, St. Joseph Notre Dame, H, Sr. -- Was first-team All-TCAL and had 414 kills, 137 blocks, 92 digs, 89 aces.

Jen Corbin, Foothill, H, Sr. -- First team All-EBAL selection

Katherine Claybaugh, San Ramon Valley, H, Fr. -- Was honorable mention All-EBAL and had 456 kills, 524 digs, 24 blocks.

Maddie Borch, Las Lomas, MB, Sr. -- Was first team All-DFAL with 367 kills, 144 blocks, 419 digs.

Rachel Linden, Las Lomas, S, Sr. -- Was first team All-DFAL with 1,245 assists, 354 digs, 79 aces.

Kristina Dunworth, Amador Valley, S, Sr. -- Was first team All-EBAL

Jane Petricka, Granada, L, Sr. -- First team All-EBAL

THIRD TEAM

Danielle Carothers, Irvington, H, Sr. -- The Mission Valley Athletic League MVP had 448 assists, 200 kills, 240 digs, 70 aces.

Molly Ginsburg, Berkeley, H, Sr. -- First team All-WACC pick had 325 kills, 469 digs, 42 blocks, 34 aces.

Erin Brodbeck, Monte Vista, Sr. -- First team All-EBAL.

Kelsey LaCour, Northgate, MB, Sr. -- First team All-DVAL.

Amber Erhahon, Albany, MB, Jr. -- First-team All-TCAL pick had 249 kills.

Amanda Tuazon, Foothill, S, Sr. -- First team All-EBAL.

Caitlyn Quindoy, California, S, Jr. -- Second-team All-EBAL, 761 assists, 225 digs, 74 kills, 49 aces, 37 blocks.
