ANTIOCH -- One person was injured in a shooting early Saturday morning, police said.

The victim, who was not identified, was expected to recover. No one else was injured, police said.

Police responded to Sycamore Drive, between Somersville Road and L Street, around 12:55 a.m. Saturday and found the victim suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound, according to Sgt. Trevor Schnitzius. The victim was transported to a hospital.

About three hours later, police responded to a shots-fired call on the same street. Gunfire was reported about 3:48 a.m. in the 2300 block of Sycamore Drive. Officers found a suspect fleeing the scene, and recovered a loaded firearm, Schnitzius said.

No victims were located. The suspect, identified only as a 25-year-old Pittsburg man, was arrested and taken to County Jail in Martinez.

There is no evidence to indicate the two incidents are related, Schnitzius said, but detectives are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information on either case can text tips to 274637 or call Antioch police at 925-779-6902.
