LOS ALAMITOS — Four schools in the Los Alamitos Unified School District were on a brief lockdown Friday morning.

According to Sherry Kropp, superintendent of the school district, the lockdown was put in place after there was news that a burglary suspect may have been on the loose.

"It happened pretty fast," Kropp said.

However, she said after consulting with police, the lockdown was quickly lifted.

The schools affected were Los Alamitos Elementary School, McAuliffe Middle School, Los Alamitos High School and Laurel High School.
